兩者均是物權(quán)法上的術(shù)語，與土地的地役權(quán)（easement)相關(guān)。dominant tenement為“承役地”或“需役地”，指得到其他地產(chǎn)給予的地役權(quán)的土地 [1] ; servient tenement為“供役地”， 則是指給予其他地產(chǎn)地役權(quán)之土地 [2] 。一般說來，dominant tenement 為英式英語[3]; 在美國，其常被稱為dominant estate、upper estate 或 dominant property。而 servient tenement 也被人稱為 servient estate、lower estate 或 servient property。
