腸胃/Chang Wei
(The Intestine and Stomach)
黃帝問于伯高日:余愿聞六腑傳谷者，腸胃之小大長短，受谷之多少奈何?伯高曰:請盡言之，谷所從出入淺深遠(yuǎn)近長短之度:唇至齒長九分，口廣二寸半。齒以后至?xí)挘钊绨?，大容五合。舌重十兩，長七寸，廣二寸半。咽門重十兩，廣一寸半;至胃長一尺六寸。胃紆曲屈，伸之，長二尺六寸，大一尺五寸，徑五寸，大容三斗五升。小腸后附脊，左環(huán)回周迭積，其注于回腸者，外附于臍上，回運(yùn)環(huán)十六曲，大二寸半，徑八分分之少半，長三丈二尺?；啬c當(dāng)臍，左環(huán)，回周葉積而下回運(yùn)環(huán)反十六曲，大四寸，徑一寸寸之少半，長二丈一尺。廣腸傅脊，以受回腸，左環(huán)葉脊，上下辟，大八寸，徑二寸寸之大半，長二尺八寸。腸胃所入至所出，長六丈四寸四分，回曲環(huán)反，三十二曲也。
Yellow Emperor asked Bogao:"I like to hear about the transportation of the cereals in the six hollow organs, the size and length of stomach and intestine and the capacity of the accommodation of the cereals." Bogao said:"Let me tell you the length of the various parts from the mouth where the cereals enter to the anus where the feces is excreted: The length from the lips to the teeth is nine fen (0. 9inch); the width of the mouth is two and half inches; the depth from the rear of teeth to the epiglottis is three and half inches; it can hold five ge (0. 05 litre) of food; the weight of the tongue is ten ounces, it is seven inches long and two and half inches wide; the weight of the laryngopharynx is ten ounces and its width is one and half inches; the length from the laryngopharynx to the stomach is one foot and six inches, the body of the stomach is tortuous, bending and stretching, its length is two feet and six inches, its circumference is one foot and five inches, its diameter is five inches and its capacity is three and half litres. The small intestine attaches to the spine behind, it goes around from left to the right and is overlapping, with sixteen turnings, the part of small intestine connecting the large intestine attaches on the location above the navel, its circumference is two and half inches, its diameter is eight and two third fen, and its length is thirty two feet. The large intestine turns left by the site of the navel, it descends overlapping in sixteen turnings, its circumference is four inches, its diameter is one and one third inches, and its length is twenty one feet. The wide intestine (rectum) is near the spinal cord, it receives the dregs from the large intestine, it descends to connect the anus somewhat slantingly, its circumference is eight inches, its diameter is two and two third inches and its length is two feet and eight inches. The total length of the digestive tract is sixty fcet and four inches and four fen, the turnings in the small intestine and the large intestine are thirty two."
