背腧/Bei Shu
(The Back-shu Points of the Five Viscera)
黃帝問(wèn)于岐伯日:愿聞五臟之腧，出于背者。岐伯日:胸[胸:日刻本與注本，終身注本并作“背”]中大腧在杼骨之端，肺腧在三焦[焦:《素問(wèn)?血?dú)庑沃酒吠踝⒁鳌白怠盷之間[間:《素間?血?dú)庑沃酒吠踝⒁鳌鞍盷，心腧在五焦之間，膈腧在七焦之間，肝腧在九焦之間，脾腧在十一焦之間，腎腧在十四焦之間，皆[皆:周本，明本并作“背”]挾脊相去三寸所，則欲得[得:《太素》卷十一《氣穴》無(wú)此字]而驗(yàn)之，按其處，應(yīng)在[在:《太素》卷十一《氣穴》無(wú)此字]中而痛解，乃其腧也。灸之則可，刺之則不可。氣[氣:《甲乙》卷三第八無(wú)此字]盛則瀉之，虛則補(bǔ)之。以火補(bǔ)者，毋吹其火，須自滅也;以火瀉者，疾吹其火，傳[傳:《太素》卷十一《氣穴》“作傅”]其艾，須其火滅也。
Yellow Emperor said to Qibo: "I hope to know the conditions of the shu-points of the five viscera on the back." Qibo said: "The main back-shu points (Dazhu BL. 11) are on the two sides of the first vertebra behind the neck; the Feishu points (back-shu points of the lung BL.13) are on the two sides of the third vertebra; the Xinshu points (back-shu points of the heart BL. 15) are on the two sides of the fifth vertebra; the Ganshu points (back-shu points of the liver BL.18) are on the two sides of the ninth vertebra; the Pishu points (the back-shu points of the spleen BL. 20) are on the two sides of the eleventh vertebra; the Shenshu points (back-shu points of the kidney BL. 23) are on the two sides of the fourteenth vertebra. These shu points are pressing close on the left and right sides to the spine, and each of them is one and half inches beside the spine. When one wants to find out the situation of the acupoint, press with the finger to seek the location of which the patient feels painful or the location where the pain is alleviated, and it is the situation of the shu-point. When treating the shu-point, apply moxibustion is permissible, and acupuncture must not be applied. In moxibustion, when the evil energy is overabundant, apply purge therapy; when the healthy energy is deficient. apply invigorating therapy. When invigorating with moxibustion, the fire of the moxa stick must not be blowed out, it should be extinguished all by itself after burning; when purging with moxibustion, the fire of the moxa stick should be blowed out swiftly, then pat the moxa floss with hand. The treating is accomplished only after the extinguishing of fire."
