以上單詞均有聚積或集合的含義。accumulation主要指同類事物，如金錢、資本、收益等的逐漸積累，而非一下或突然的聚集，且此種積累多為無序或無組織關(guān)聯(lián)[1 ]。collection?？膳caccumulation交替使用，但它所指的累積則常指一種有序或有組織的聚合[2]，如：An accumulation of many specimens is needed when one is preparing a scientific collection.
Aggregation 常指具有 一定凝聚力的某種集合體，但其關(guān)聯(lián)性卻趕不上collection [3]， 如 An industrial empire is often an aggregation of unrelated enterprises。 conglomeration則常指許多不同來源或不同地區(qū)或甚至矛盾 的事物的集合體[4 ] ，如：A conglomeration of many different kinds of people from various countries and cultures.
