三者均指參與婦女賣淫活動者。其中，bawd ( “鴇婆”或 “鴇公”）用于指為妓女拉客者（尤指婦女），其為舊用語（archaic word), 現已鮮見[1]。panderer則為“組織賣淫嫖娼者”， 專指招募妓女或為他人安排場所賣淫嫖娼者（recruiting prostitutes of arranging a situation for another to practice prostitution)[2] 。pimp則為“皮條客”，指替妓女拉客且從中分得該妓女賣淫所得中的—定利益者(soliciting customers for a prostitute in return for a share of the prostitute's earnings) [3] 。
