自從1816年發(fā)明聽(tīng)診器以來(lái)，醫(yī)生們一直自信地把它掛在頸部，作為一種簡(jiǎn)便的工具為患者診斷疾病。然而，隨著醫(yī)療技術(shù)的迅速發(fā)展，醫(yī)生診斷疾病有了更先進(jìn)的儀器。

Since the stethoscope was invented in 1816, doctors have always confidently slung stethoscopes around their necks as an easy and convenient way of diagnosing diseases for patients. However, as medical technologies have developed quickly, doctors are now better equipped with more sophisticated instruments. 

例如，越來(lái)越的心臟病醫(yī)生依靠超聲波心動(dòng)圖而不是通過(guò)聽(tīng)診來(lái)診斷心臟病。醫(yī)生從超聲心動(dòng)圖中可以得到更精確的數(shù)據(jù)，從而準(zhǔn)確地診斷心臟??；而低技術(shù)的聽(tīng)診器是無(wú)法與之相比的。

For example, an increasing number of cardiologists rely on echocardiogram rather than listen through a stethoscope to diagnose heart disease. Doctors can gather more precise data so as to make correct diagnoses, to which the low-tech stethoscope cannot compare.

醫(yī)療技術(shù)的迅速發(fā)展對(duì)醫(yī)學(xué)培訓(xùn)提出很多挑戰(zhàn)。聽(tīng)診是消亡的藝術(shù)嗎？失去聽(tīng)診器就是醫(yī)患關(guān)系的損失嗎？

The rapid development of medical technologies has brought about a number of challenges to medical training. Is listening through a stethoscope a dying art? Is the loss of stethoscope a loss for doctor-patient relationship?

還有必要培養(yǎng)醫(yī)學(xué)生去掌握低技術(shù)、不精確的診斷方法嗎？更多依靠先進(jìn)技術(shù)去診治疾病難道不對(duì)嗎？

Is it still necessary to train medical students to master the low-tech and imprecise ways of diagnosing diseases? Isn’t it right to rely more on advanced technology in diagnosing and treating diseases?

雖然圍繞諸如此類問(wèn)題上的爭(zhēng)論還會(huì)繼續(xù)下去，但用醫(yī)療新技術(shù)來(lái)不斷提高診治疾病的水平這一趨勢(shì)是無(wú)法改變的。

While controversies over such questions may still continue, the trend cannot be changed towards continuous improvement of diagnosis and treatment with new medical technologies.
