衛(wèi)氣失常/Wei Qi Shi Chang

(Treating the Abnormal Wei-energy)

黃帝曰:衛(wèi)氣之留于腹中，搐積不行，苑蘊不得常所，使人支脅胃中滿，喘呼逆息者，何以去之?伯高曰:其氣積于胸中者，上取之;積于腹中者，下取之;上下皆滿者，傍取之。

Yellow Emperor asked: "When the Wei-energy accumulates in the chest but the stagnation does not retain in a definite location, it causes the propping of the hypochondria, abdominal flatulence, dyspnea and the adverseness of vital energy.  How to eliminate them?" Bogao said: "When the energy is accumulated in the chest, treat by pricking the acupoints on the upper part of the body; when the energy is accumulated in the abdomen, treat by pricking the acupoints on the lower part of the body; when the energy is full and distending in both the chest and the abdomen, treat by pricking the near by acupoints.

黃帝日:取之奈何?伯高對日:積于上，瀉人迎，天突、喉中:積于下者，瀉三里與氣街;上下皆滿者，上下取之，與季脅之下一寸;重者[重者:按“重者”與上“與季脅之下一寸”句似誤倒，當(dāng)作“重者，與季脅之下一寸，雞足取之”]，雞足取之。診視其脈大而弦急，及絕不至者，及腹皮急甚者，不可刺也。黃帝日:善。

Yellow Emperor asked: "How to treat them by pricking the acupoints?" Bogao said: "When the wei-energy is accumulated in the chest, purge by pricking the Renying (ST.60), Tiantu (RN. 22) and Houzhong points; when the Wei-energy is accumulated in the abdomen, purge by pricking the Sanli (ST.36) and Qijie (ST. 30) points; when the chest and the abdomen are both full and distending with the energy, prick the Renying, Tiantu and Houzhong points above, prick the Sanli and Qijie points below and prick the Zhangmen point (LR.13) in the middle. If the distention is severe, prick slantingly in the pattern of the chicken's claw, If the patient's pulse condition is gigantic, wiry and urgent, or the pulse is severing and the skin of the stomach is very hard, it must not be treated by pricking." Yellow Emperor said: "Good."

黃帝問于伯高日:何以知皮肉、氣血、筋骨之病也?伯高日:色起兩眉[色起兩眉:《千金翼方》卷二十五《診氣血法》作“白色起于兩眉間”]薄澤者，病在皮。唇色青黃赤白[白:《千金翼方》卷二十五《診氣色法》無此字]黑者，病在肌肉。營氣潘然者，病在血氣[氣:《千金翼方》卷二十五《診氣色法》作“脈”]。目色青黃赤白黑者，病有筋。耳焦枯受塵垢，病在骨。

Yellow Emperor asked Bogao:"How to know there is disease in the skin, muscle, energy, blood, tendon and bone by examining?" Bogao said: "When the white colour appears between the two eyebrows without lustre, the disease is in the skin; when the colours of green, yellow, red and black appear in the lips, the disease is in the muscle; when the blood and energy of the patient is deficient, the disease is in the channel; when the colours of green, yellow, red, white and black appear in the eye, the disease is in the tendon; when the ear is dry with plenty of earwax, the disease is in the bone."

黃帝日:病形何如，取之奈何?伯高日:夫百病變化，不可勝數(shù)，然[夫面病變化，不可勝數(shù)，然:《甲乙》卷六第六并無此十字]皮有部，肉有柱，血氣有輸，肉有屬。黃帝日:愿聞其故。伯高日:皮之部，輸于四末。肉之柱，在臂脛諸陽分肉之間，與足少陰分間[分間:《千金翼方》卷二十五第一作“分肉之間”]。血氣之輸[血氣之輸:《千金翼方》卷二十五第一作“氣血之輪”]，輸于諸絡(luò)，氣血留居，則盛而起。筋部無陰無陽，無左無右，候病所在。骨之屬者，骨空之所以受益[《甲乙》卷六第六作“液”]而益腦髓者也。

Yellow Emperor asked:"What are the appearances of the diseases and how to treat them by pricking?" Bogao said: "In skin, there is the sub-part, in muscle, there is the protruding part, in the energy and blood, there are the orbiculi, in bone, there is the connected tissue, and all these are their dominating parts. " Yellow Emperor said: "I hope to hear the reasons about them. "Bogao said:"The sub-part of the skin is in the four extremities. The protruding muscle is between the muscles of the various Yang channels in the lower arm and between the muscles of the Foot Shaoyin Channel. The orbiculi of energy and blood are in the collateral points of the various channels, if the energy and blood are stagnant, the channel energy will be obstructed. When the disease is in the tendon, prick the focus disregarding of the Yin, Yang, left and right of the disease. When the disease is in the bone, prick the connected tissue of the bone as the cavity of the bone joint is the place for receiving fluid for supplementing the cerebral marrow.

黃帝日:取之奈何?伯高日:夫病變化，浮沉深淺，不可勝窮，各在其處[“黃帝日”至“各在其處”:《千金翼方》卷二十五第一作“若取之者，必須侯病間甚者也”]。病間者淺之，甚者深之，間者小之，甚者眾之[甚者眾之:《千金翼方》卷二十五第一無“甚者”二字，“眾”作“多”，“多之”二字，移在上文“甚者深之”之下]，隨變而調(diào)氣[氣:《千金翼方》卷二十五第一作“之”]，故日上工。

"When one treats by pricking, he must examine the severe and the slight extent of the disease. To the disease which is light, prick shallowly and make few prickings; to the disease which is severe, prick deeply and make more prickings. When one can treat according to the variation of the disease, he is supposed to be a good physician."
