Favorable Conditions of the Project's Location

The grain wharf at Xiaocuo Port is to be located at the south shore of Meizhou Bay along the coast of central Fujian at 24°50'N and 118°25'E. Bordering Hui'an, Xianyou, Putian and facing Taiwan across the straits, it is 510 miles from Shanghai Port on the north, 540 miles from Huangpu Port on the south and 174 miles from Keelong Port on the east. Xiaocuo port area where the grain wharf is to be located lies on the central China coast (central Fujian Coast as well) of the international route along the west Pacific coast. This position makes the port an important access to the sea which leads to Southeast Asian countries and links major ports in the world. For Fujian Province, Xiaocuo is a port of strategic importance in the province's drive toward a rapid economic development, particularly in southeast Fujian, by taking advantage of its sea ports and harbors. The overall plan for the construction of Xiaocuo has been approved by Fujian Provincial Government to be put into practice. According to the plan, Xiaocuo will be built into a commercial port area with berths for grain, general cargo and containers, and there will be 10 berths able to accommodate ships of 10,000 tonnage and 100,000 tonnage, including 5 berths for ships with a tonnage ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 and 2 berths for ships with a tonnage of 100,000.
