英語中表示“患病”的說法很多，因此“患”字也就有許多譯法。一般常用的譯法有：have, suffer from, be ill with, be sick with, get, contract。下面就以上幾種譯法分別作一簡單介紹。

一、have

have是表達(dá)“患病”概念最常用的譯法之一，也是最通俗的說法，多用于口語中。例如：

根據(jù)你的病史、體檢和實(shí)驗(yàn)室化驗(yàn)，你患的是急性胰腺炎。

2. As I remember, my brother and sister both had severe asthmatic attacks in their childhood.

我記得,我弟弟和妹妹童年時(shí)都患過嚴(yán)重的哮喘病。

二、suffer from

suffer from也常用來表示“患病”的概念，特別在醫(yī)生與病人的交談中用得比較多，通常多用于進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)。例如：

3. It shows he's most likely suffering from infection mononucleosis.

這說明，他很可能患了傳染性單核細(xì)胞增多癥。

4. She was suffering from heart disease and would feel faint at the slightest physical exertion.

她患有心臟病,稍一做體力活就感到頭暈。

當(dāng)然，suffer from也可用于其他時(shí)態(tài)。例如：

三、(be) ill with

一般多用于英國英語。例如：
