手太陽之本，在外踝之后，標在命門之上一寸也。手少陽之本，在小指次指之間上二寸，標在耳后上角下外眥也。手陽明之本，在肘骨中，上至別陽，標在顏下合鉗上也。手太陰之本，在寸口之中，標在腋內(nèi)動也。手少陰之本，在銳骨之端，標在背腧也。手心主之本，在掌后兩筋之間二寸中，標在腋下下三寸也。凡候此者，下虛則厥，下盛則熱;上虛則眩，上盛則熱痛。故石[石:《太素》卷十《經(jīng)脈標本》作“實”]者絕而止之，虛者引而起之。
"The root of the Hand Taiyang Channel is the Yanglao point (SI. 6) behind the outer ankle of the hand; its branch is one inch above the Jingming point. The root of the Hand Shaoyang Channel is in the Yeman point (SJ. 2) which is two inches above the middle of the small finger and the ring finger; its branches are in the Jiaosun point (SJ. 20) on the upper corner behind the ear and the Sizhukong point (SJ. 23) beside the outer canthus. The root of the Hand Yangming Channel is in the Quchi point (LI. 11) from the elbow bone to the Binao point (LI. 14) above; its branch is in the Touwei point (ST. 18) below the forehead and beside the ear. The root of the Hand Taiyin Channel is in the Tainyuan point (LU. 9) in the Cunkou, its branch is Tianfu point (L.U. 3) in the artery under the armpit. The root of the Hand Shaoyin Channel is in the Shenmen point (HT. 7) which is on the terminal of the acute bone; its branch is in the Xinshu point (BL.15) on the back. The root of the Pericardium Channel is in the Neiguan point (PC. 6) which is in the middle of the two tendons two inches from the wrist behind the palm; its branch is in the Tainchi point (PC. 1) which is three inches under the armpit. In examining the root and the branch of the twelve channels, when the roots of the various Yang channels are deficient, the jueni syndrome will occur; when the roots of the various Yang channels are overabundant, the cold extremities due to heat-evil will occur. When the branches of the various Yin channels are deficient, dizziness will occur; when the branches of the various Yin channels are overabundant, pain due to the heat-evil will occur. Therefore, when treating the syndrome of sthenia, it will eliminate the evil-energy and check its development; when treating the syndrome of asthenia, it will induce the healthy energy and substantialize it.
請言氣街:胸氣有街，腹氣有街，頭氣有街，脛氣有街。故氣在頭者，止之于腦。氣在胸者，此之膺與背腧。氣在腹者，止之背腧，與沖脈于臍左右之動脈者。氣在脛者，止之于氣街，與承山踝上以下。取此者用毫針，必先按而在久[在久:《甲乙》卷二第四作“久存之”]應于手，乃刺而予之。所治者，頭痛眩仆，腹痛中滿暴脹，及有新積。痛可移者，易已也;積不痛，難已也。
"Now, let me tell you the routes of the energy: The energy of chest has its own route, the energy of abdomen has its own route, the energy of head has its own route, and the energy of leg has its own route. Thus, when the energy is in the head, prick the Baihui point (DU.20) on the top of head to prevent the affection of the disease. When the energy is in the chest, prick the chest and the Feishu point (BL. 13) on the back to prevent the affection of the disease. When the energy is in the abdomen, pick the Pishu point (BL. 20) on the back, the route of the Chong Vessel, prick the the Huangshu point (KI. 16) around the arteries of the navel and the Tianshu point (ST. 25). When the energy is in the leg, prick the Qichong point (ST. 30), Chengshan point (BL. 57) and the locations above and below the ankle of foot to prevent the affection of the disease. When pricking, apply the filiform needle, and press the acupoint with a considerable long time in advance, and then, prick with invigorating therapy or purging therapy respectively until the energy has arrived and felt by the fingers. The diseases caused by the energies of various routes are: headache, fainting, abdominal pain, abdominal flatulence, sudden distention and mass of the initial stage. If the site of the pain is transferable, it can be cured easily; if the mass is not painful and the location is fixed, it can hardly be cured."
