Remarks by H.E. Yu Hong, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei, at the Awarding and Exhibition Launching Ceremony of "Beauty of China " Painting Competition
尊敬的文萊教育部副部長哈佳·羅麥扎博士，
各位評委、老師及學生家長，
小朋友們，
大家好！
我非常高興今天和你們一同參加“美麗中國”文萊小學生主題繪畫比賽頒獎儀式暨畫展開幕式。首先我要感謝文萊教育部對此次活動的大力支持，感謝各參賽學校和學生家長的鼎力配合，感謝評委提供的寶貴意見。當然，最要感謝的還是每一位參賽的小朋友。

Media friends and distinguished Guests,
Good morning!
It gives me great pleasure to have all of you today for the the Awarding and Exhibition Launching Ceremony of "Beauty of China " Painting Competition. I extend my special thanks to Datin Dr. Hajah Romaizah for attending this event. I would also like to thank the officials from the Ministry of Education, for your strong support to make this event happen. I also thank the participating schools and the parents of the students for your support and encouragement and cooperation and the judges for your valuable comments. Of course, I would like to thank every kids who participated in the painting competition, who not only showing your painting talents but also knowledge about China.
這次比賽共有來自近19所小學的400余名參賽者。經評委認真篩選，選出70幅優(yōu)勝作品。確定特等獎兩名，一等獎3名，二等獎5名，三等獎10名和鼓勵獎50名。從展出的作品，可以看到你們的童心、童趣、童真。稚嫩的畫作色彩斑斕，想象飛揚，長城、古塔、巨龍、熊貓，這些都是中國符號性的元素。感謝大家用畫筆畫出了中國的美好，中國的文化。我非常喜歡！
There were more than 400 participants from 19 primary schools. After careful selection by the judges, 70 winning works were selected, including two special awards, three first prizes, five second prizes, 10 third prizes and 50 encouragement awards. From your paintings on display we find beauty of China in children's eyes which are pure, simple and beautiful. The paintings are colorful, vivid and full of imagination. The Great Wall, the ancient pagoda, the giant dragon and the panda are all symbolic elements of China. We are able to see the beauty of China through the paintings and touch the Chinese Culture under the future young artists' brushes . I like your paintings very much!
中國與文萊有著悠久的交往歷史和傳統(tǒng)友誼，兩國隔海相望，是睦鄰。文萊有王總兵路和蒲公墓，中國南京有浡泥國王墓，這都是兩國友好交往的歷史見證。近年來，中文關系迅速發(fā)展。2018年，中國國家主席習近平成功訪問文萊，兩國元首決定將兩國關系提升為戰(zhàn)略合作伙伴關系。今年4月，文萊蘇丹陛下出席在北京舉行的第二屆“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇。中文關系站在新的起點。
China and Brunei facing each other across the sea, are good neighbors sharing a long history of exchanges and traditional friendship. Jalan Ong Sum Ping and Pu Kung Chih Mu in Bandar Seri Begawan and the Tomb of the King of Boni in China's Nanjing city witnessed the long history of friendly interactions between our two countries. In the past few years, China-Brunei relations have developed rapidly. In 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Brunei. Last April , His Majesty attended the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. Our relations now have come to a new point.
國與國的友好合作需要民間的支持與參與，有了民意基礎，國家友好的根基就更牢靠。舉辦本次“美麗中國”文萊小學生繪畫比賽的目的，就是希望小朋友們更多地了解中國、認識中國、喜歡中國，成為中文友好的后備力量。中國有廣袤的國土、秀美的風光、燦爛的文化、友善的人民。歡迎大家到中國去旅游，親身感受中國。

The friendly cooperation between countries requires people's support and participants. The purpose of holding this "Beauty of China" painting competition is to promote China among children. We hope children in Brunei know more about China, understand more about China, like China, and become supporters of China-Brunei friendship. China has vast territory, beautiful scenery, splendid culture and friendly people. You are welcome to travel to China and experience China by yourself. We do hope to see you again in the future events related with China.
