H.E. Zhan Yongxin, Chinese Ambassador to Israel, Gives a Written Interview with The Times of Israel on the Historic Contribution of Dr. Jacob Rosenfeld

On 12 August,The Times of Israel issued an article on the life of Dr. Jacob Rosenfeld,a Jewish internationalist who contributed to the liberation cause of the Chinese People. The report quoted Ambassador Zhan Yongxin's written interview with the journalist, and the Embassy would like to publish the full text as follows:
今年是中華人民共和國成立70周年。新中國的成立是中國人民在中國共產(chǎn)黨領導下前仆后繼、英勇奮斗的勝利，也離不開世界各國人民的同情和支持。羅生特就是其中的杰出代表。作為一名醫(yī)生，他以精湛的醫(yī)術(shù)、高尚的醫(yī)德，救人無數(shù)；作為一名戰(zhàn)士，他英勇無畏，不屈不撓，全身心投入反法西斯斗爭。
The founding of the People's Republic of China is a historic achievement of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people, and it is also indebted to the sympathies and supports from friends across the world. Dr. Rosenfeld is an outstanding example of our international friends. He is a great doctor that saved many lives in China and a fearless soldier who devoted his life to the fighting of fascism.
中國駐以色列使館每年都代表中國政府和人民祭掃位于特拉維夫凱雅特·肖的羅生特墓。我們永遠銘記并感謝所有對中國革命和建設事業(yè)作出貢獻的國際友人。羅生特的一生也是中華民族和猶太民族患難與共、守望相助的一個縮影。我們將以他的事跡和精神啟迪后人，推動中以創(chuàng)新全面伙伴關(guān)系不斷邁上新臺階。
Every year, the Chinese Embassy in Israel pays tribute to the tomb of Dr. Rosenfeld at Kiryat Shaul Cemetery, Tel Aviv. By doing so, we want to reaffirm that the Chinese government and its people will never forget the friends who contributed to the founding and development of the People's Republic. Moreover, the stories of Dr. Rosenfeld also reflects the deep bond between the Chinese and the Jewish people, demonstrating how we helped each other in the darkest time of history. I trust the story of Dr. Rosenfeld will be a source of inspiration for both of our peoples and motivates us to further elevate the Innovative Comprehensive Partnership between China and Israel.
