whether引導(dǎo)讓步狀語(yǔ)從句，可譯為“不論……（是否)”、“不管……（是否)”等。
如：
* The molecules have this random motion whether or not a temperature qradient exists in the gas.
不論氣體中是否存在有溫度梯度，氣體分子總是進(jìn)行這種無(wú)規(guī)律的運(yùn)動(dòng)。
* Whether or not the speed is constant, the averaae speed is the distance the body moves divided by the time required for the motion.
不論速度是否恒定，平均速度總是物體通過(guò)的距離除以運(yùn)動(dòng)所需的時(shí)間。
