肺主秋，手太陰陽明主治，其日庚辛，肺苦氣上逆，急食苦以泄之。

"The lung takes charge of the energy of autumn which is the season of metal, there are Yin metal and Yang metal, when lung is in the Hand Taiyin Channel, it is Yin metal, when the large intestine is in the Hand Yangming Channel, it is the Yang metal; in autumn, these are the two main channels for treating. Geng and Xin associate with metal, so Geng and Xin are the days when lung being prosperous. When the lung energy goes up adversely, it should be purged with medicine of bitter taste.

腎主冬，足少陰太陽主治，其日壬癸，腎苦燥，急食辛以潤之，開腠理，致津液，通氣也。

"The kidney takes charge of the energy of winter which is the season of water, there are Yin water and Yang water, when the kidney is in the Foot Shaoyin Channel, it is Yin water, when the bladder is in the Foot Taiyang Channel, it is Yang water; in winter, these are the two main channels for treating. Ren and Gui associate with water, so Ren and Gui are the days when kidney being prosperous. The characterstic of kidney disease is dry, it should be moistened with medicine of acrid taste. In a word, when treating the five viscera with the five tastes, it is for to open the striae of skin, circulate the body fluid and dredge the energy.

病在肝，愈于夏，夏不愈，甚于秋，秋不死，持于冬，起于春，禁當(dāng)風(fēng)。肝病者，愈在丙丁，丙丁不愈，加干庚辛，庚辛不死，持于壬癸，起于甲乙。肝病者，平旦慧，下脯甚，夜半靜。肝欲散，急食辛以散之，用辛補之，酸寫之。

"When the disease is in the liver, it could be recovered in summer, if it is not recovered it will become aggravated in autumn, if the patient does not die in autumn, the disease will become protracted in winter, and the patient can only be picked up in spring of next year when the wood energy is prosperous, but the patient must take good care of avoiding wind-evil.

"The patient of liver disease may turn to the better in Bing and Ding days, if the disease is not recovered then, it will become aggravated on Geng and Xin days, if it does not aggravate then, it will be protracting on Ren and Gui days, but will turn to the better until Jia and Yi days.

"The patient with liver disease will turn to the better at dawn, turn to the worse at dusk, become calm down at midnight.

"The evil-energy of liver should be dispersed with acrid medicine, when invigoration is needed, sour medicine should be used to replenish the liver; when purgation is needed, medicine of acrid taste should be used to clear away the fire of the liver-energy.
