=not at all, by no means, never，表示“決不，根本不”。

He is anything but a scientist.

他決非科學(xué)家。

His English is anything but correct.

他的英文錯(cuò)誤百出。

nothing but


=only，表示“只不過，除了……以外什么也沒有”。

=almost, nearly，表示“幾乎，差一點(diǎn)”。
