帝曰:熱厥何如而然也?岐伯曰:酒入于胃，則絡(luò)脈滿而經(jīng)脈虛;脾主為胃行其津液者也，陰氣虛則陽氣入[孫鼎宜說:“入”當作“實”]，陽氣入則胃不和，胃不和則精氣竭，精氣竭則不營其四支也。此人必數(shù)醉，若飽以入房，氣聚于脾中不得散，酒氣與谷氣相薄[《太素》“薄”當作“搏”]，熱盛于中[《病沅》“盛于中”作“起于內(nèi)”]，故熱偏于身內(nèi)熱而溺赤也。夫酒氣盛而懔悍，腎氣有[胡本，元殘二，吳本，朝本，“有”并作“曰”]衰，陽氣獨勝，故手足為之熱也。

Yellow Emperor asked: "How does the heat-jue-syndrome come about?" Qibo said:"When alcohol is taken, it will cause the collaterals to fill with blood, and the channels, on the contrary, become empty. As the spleen is to help the stomach for transporting the essence of water and cereals, if alcohol is excessively taken, the spleen will have nothing to transport and cause the Yin energy to become asthenic: when the Yin energy is asthenic, the Yang energy will be sthenic, and the stomach energy will become disharmonious, and thus, the refined energy of water and cereals will be reduced, and the extremities can hardly be nourished. The patient of this kind must be drunken frequently and conducting sexual intercourse after being well-fed, his kidney energy is so asthenic that his gate of life has no more energy to support the spleen, and the energy in the spleen will be stagnated without being dispersed. When the energy of alcohol and the energy of cereals are combating, heat will emerge from inside, and fever all over the body and the deep-coloured urine will occur. As the energy of alcohol is abundant and violent, and the kidney energy is declining day after day, the Yang energy will become solely abundant inside and both the hands and feet will be hot."

帝曰:厥或令人腹?jié)M，或令人暴不知人，或至[《病沅》“或”下無“至”字]半日遠至一日乃知人者何也?岐伯曰:陰氣盛于上則下虛，下虛則腹脹滿;陽氣盛于上，則下氣重上，而邪氣逆，逆則陽氣亂，陽氣亂則不知人也。

Yellow Emperor asked: "Some jue-syndromes cause one to have distention of the abdomen, some cause one to become unconscious all of a sudden and can not regain consciousness until half a day or even one whole day, and what is the reason?" Qibo said: "When the Yin energy is abundant partially on the upper part of the body, one will be deficient in the lower and the abdomen will apt to have distention; when the Yang energy is abundant partially on the upper part, the Yin energy will join and go along with it. As the evil-energy is going in the adverse direction, the adverse evil-energy will cause confusion of the Yang energy and when the Yang energy is confused, one will lost consciousness all of a sudden."
