四川省樂(lè)山大佛（Leshan Giant Buddha；Leshan Rock Buddha in Sichuan Province) Leshan Giant Buddha is located on the west slope of Mt. Lingyun near Leshan City,Sichuan Province. 70. 7m high and 24m wide at the shoulders,it is the biggest Buddha statue in China. The project started in the first year(713)of the Kaiyuan reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and was finished in the 19th year (803) of the Zhenyuan reign of Emperor Dezong of the Tang. Mt. Emei-Leshan Scenic Zone was put into the World Cultural and Natural Heritage list by the UNESCO in 1996.
