3. 當英語句子中幾個形容詞共同修飾名詞時，被修飾的名詞在譯成漢語時常?？梢灾貜?。如：
* The three most important effects of an electric current are heating, magnetic and chemical effects.
電流三種最重要的效應是熱效應、磁效應和化學效應。
* Computers can operate on either analogue or digital information.
計算機能夠根據(jù)模擬信息或數(shù)字信息進行運算。
二、重復動詞
在英語句子中，如果并列連詞as well as, not only...but also, but, not...but, either...or,?both ...and，neither...nor等連詞連接兩個并列成分，且只有一個謂語動詞時，漢譯時為了譯文的修辭需要，可以重復翻譯該動詞。如：
* The internal combustion engines can operate on kerosene as well as on benzine.
內燃機不僅能用汽油開動，而且能用航空煤油開動。
* Alternating stress not only varies in magnitude but also in direction.
角變應力不僅大小變化，而且方向也變化。
