(On Strange Diseases)

肝滿[“滿”應(yīng)作“脈”，以后“心脈”“肝脈”均同]腎滿肺滿皆實(shí)，即[《太素》“即”作“皆”]為腫。肺為雍[《太素》《甲乙》“雍”并作“癰”，按“肺”下“之”字術(shù)]，喘而兩膚滿:肝雍，兩胠[《太素》“胠”作“脅”]滿，臥則驚，不得小便;腎雍，腳[《太素》《甲乙》“腳”并作“肚”《脈經(jīng)》“少”并作“小”]下至少腹?jié)M，脛?dòng)写笮?，?大[《甲乙》“骺”作“脛”，無(wú)“大”字]跛，易偏枯。

When the pulse conditions of the liver, kindey and lung are all substantial, abundant and full, they can all cause swelling.

When one contracts the lung abscess, rapid respiration and distention of the two lateral sides of the thoraxes will occur; when one contracts the liver abscess, distention of the two lateral sides of the thoraxes, fright during sleep and dysuria will occur; when one contracts the kidney abscess, distention over the hypochondrium and the lower abdomen, swelling of the two lateral sides of the tibia now and then, deformation of the thighs and legs will occur, the patient can not keep his body in balance when walking, and he is apt to have hemiplegia.

心脈滿大，痢瘛筋攣;肝脈小急，痢瘛筋攣;肝脈鶩，暴有所驚駭，脈不至若瘖，不治自己。

When the heart pulse is full and gigantic, it shows the internal heat is excessive, epilepsy, cramp of hands and feet, and the stiffness of tendons will occur. If the liver pulse is small and tight, which shows asthenic-cold of the liver, epilepsy, cramp of hands and feet and the stiffness of tendons will also occur. If the liver pulse is rapid, or the pulse can not be felt due to the fright of the patient and he also has dysphonia, it is the phenomenum of the adverseness of vital energy due to fright. It is not necessary to treat at all as it will be recovered when the patient is calmed down.

腎脈小急，肝脈小急，心脈小急[《太素》“心脈”下無(wú)“小急”二字，“心脈”二字連下讀]不鼓皆為瘕。

When the kidney pulse is small and tight, the liver pulse is also small and tight, and the heart pulse is not hitting under the fingers, it shows the stagnation of the blood which may become abdominal mass.

腎肝并沉[王注“腎肝”下并有“脈”字]為石水，并浮為風(fēng)水，并虛為死，并小弦欲[《全生指迷方》引作“為”]驚。

When both the kidney pulse and the liver pulse are sunken, indurative edema will occur. When both the pulse conditions of kidney and liver are floating, it is edema caused by wind-evil and it is a fatal disease. If they are small and wiry like a bow string, the disease of terror will occur.

腎脈大急沉，肝脈大急沉，皆為疝。

When the pulse condition of kidney is gigantic, rapid and sunken, or the pulse condition of the liver is gigantic, rapid and sunken, hernia will occur.
