漢語里的句子，有時前一句話提到一件事，后面一句話接著談這件事，兩句話又都不長，英譯時即可并句。例如：

1) 汽水中就有碳酸。我們對碳酸的這種形式很熟悉。

carbonic acid is particularly familiar to us in the form of soda water.

2) 思想動向問題，我們應當抓住。這里當作第一個問題提出來。

We should keep tabs on ideological trends, which I am taking up here as the first question.

3) 有一種電流表叫做動鐵式電流表，如圖25所示。這 種電流表用于測量電流強度。

One kind or ammeter, called a moving-iron ammeter, used to measure the strength of electric currents is shown in fig. 25.

4) 我遇到了一個問題。當我就要出席會議時，這個問題越發(fā)明顯了。

I had a problem, which became clearly obvious just as I was to appear at the meeting.

5) 他和王寧談過話。王寧向他擔保，凡是能夠做到的都將竭盡全力去做。

He had talked to Wang Ning, who assured him that everything that could be done would be done.

6) 所有線圈都有電感。電感是阻止所通過的電流發(fā)生變化的特性。

All coils have inductive which is the property or opposing any change of current flowing through it.

7) 另ー個例子是助聽器。助聽器可以做得非常小，以致可變成眼鏡架的一部分。

Another example is the hearing aid, which can be made so small that it can become part of the frame of a pair of spectacles.
