在常用詞surface, surpass中有個來自古法語的前綴sur-, 它的前身正是拉丁前綴super-。所以，sur-的基本意思也是above或beyond，而且沒有更多的引申義。sur-主要與拉丁詞根相結(jié)合，但也可以作為派生詞綴與單詞結(jié)合。
