有些英語的被動語態(tài)譯成中文時，以按中文的習慣加上諸如“受……、被…… 、給……、讓……給……、遭到……、把……、使……、由……、為……所…… 、靠……、予以……”等詞，構成漢語的被動句，如：

The Wright brothers were highly praised for having made the first flight in the world.

萊特兄弟因為進行了世界上第一次飛行而受到了高度贊揚。

Vegetable oil has been known from antiquity.

植物油自古以來就為人們所熟悉。

She was blamed for everything her sister did.

她為妹妹所做的事而受譴責。

The lights have been turned on by him.

燈給他打開了。

The crops were washed away by the flood.

莊稼讓洪水給沖跑了。

The finished products must be carefully inspected before delivery. 

成品在出廠前必須予以仔細檢查。

He was elected chairman of the Students’Union.

他被選為學生會主席。

Boats are moved by oars or by the wind.
