b. Hundreds of New Year's Day celebrants jump into Lake Michigan at noon on Saturday along the shoreline of Milwaukee.

(三）用 a lot of, a flock of, a host of, plenty of, a sea of, a great many, a great number of等表示“許多、一大堆、不計(jì)其數(shù)、大量、大批”等不定數(shù)量，例如：

a. We are faced with a host of difficulties.

我們面臨著一大堆困難。

b. There are plenty of eggs in the basket.

藍(lán)子里有許多雞蛋。

c. There are a sea of colorful flags in Tiananmen Square on grand holidays.

在盛大節(jié)日里，天安門廣場上彩旗如海。
