中特兩國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)高度互補(bǔ)，經(jīng)貿(mào)聯(lián)系日益密切。去年，兩國(guó)貿(mào)易總額達(dá)7.32億美元，中國(guó)企業(yè)對(duì)特投資合作十分活躍，為當(dāng)?shù)亟?jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展和民生改善作出積極貢獻(xiàn)。兩國(guó)眾多政府間合作項(xiàng)目之一——特多國(guó)家表演藝術(shù)中心，是中特友誼與合作的結(jié)晶，已成為西班牙港市的地標(biāo)性建筑。
As the two economies are highly complementary, our trade ties and cooperation have kept growing. Last year, our annual bilateral trade volume hit 732 million US dollars. Chinese investments and enterprises have gained significant presence here and contributed to the boom of the local business and the well-being of the people. The National Academy for Performing Arts, an exemplar of many alike inter-government projects, has become a landmark of Port of Spain as well as a symbol of our friendship and cooperation.
中特兩國(guó)友誼深植于人民，民心更加相親相通。雙邊文教、旅游、體育、媒體等領(lǐng)域交流合作不斷拓展深化。西印度大學(xué)圣奧古斯丁分?？鬃訉W(xué)院、一年一度的“歡樂(lè)春節(jié)”活動(dòng)及華人華僑舉辦的各類文化活動(dòng)，在當(dāng)?shù)匾l(fā)“中國(guó)熱”。隨著上海市與西班牙港市探討推進(jìn)“點(diǎn)對(duì)點(diǎn)”友城關(guān)系，兩國(guó)地方省市友好合作進(jìn)一步走實(shí)走深。不久，西班牙港市傳統(tǒng)的唐人街將迎來(lái)兩座來(lái)自上海的中式牌坊。這將是銘記華人為特多當(dāng)?shù)囟嘣幕蜕鐣?huì)繁榮所做貢獻(xiàn)的永久豐碑，是中特共建“一帶一路”的標(biāo)志性建筑，也是對(duì)兩國(guó)建交45周年的獻(xiàn)禮。
Our friendship is deeply rooted in the people. Bilateral exchanges in culture, education, tourism, sports and media have been deepened and expanded. The Confucius Institute at the the University of the West Indies St. Augustine campus, annual Chinese Spring Festival celebrations and many other cultural events held by the Chinese community ignite local enthusiasm for Chinese culture. Our friendship and cooperation will run even deeper and wider as port of Spain and Shanghai are becoming sister cities. Two traditional Chinese archway--a gift from Shanghai will be erected in the China Town in Port of Spain soon, as a tribute to the 45th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, a commemoration of the Chinese community contribution and a hallmark building of our Belt and Road cooperation.

在中特建交45周年之際，我們共同回顧兩國(guó)的深厚友誼與合作成果。45載春華秋實(shí)。中特關(guān)系發(fā)展取得的巨大成就，離不開(kāi)兩國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人高層戰(zhàn)略引領(lǐng)，離不開(kāi)兩國(guó)政府和人民共同努力推動(dòng)。今年是新中國(guó)成立70周年。70年來(lái)，特別是改革開(kāi)放40多年來(lái)，中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展建設(shè)取得了舉世矚目的歷史性成就，收獲了寶貴的發(fā)展經(jīng)驗(yàn)，愿為全球治理提供更多中國(guó)方案和中國(guó)智慧。
Ladies and gentlemen,
This auspicious occasion provides us an opportunity to walk through the 45 years of our friendship and cooperation. These achievements are reached by joint efforts of generations of leaders and people from both our countries. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Over the past 70 years, especially since China's reform and opening-up, China has made remarkable achievements and gained valuable development experience. China now is in a better position to provide Chinese solutions and Chinese wisdom to world governance.
站在新的歷史起點(diǎn)上，中特關(guān)系發(fā)展面臨前所未有的歷史機(jī)遇。雙方應(yīng)致力于增進(jìn)政治互信，密切高層交往；繼續(xù)在“一帶一路”框架下加強(qiáng)發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略和發(fā)展規(guī)劃對(duì)接，拓展深化各領(lǐng)域務(wù)實(shí)合作，更多造福兩國(guó)人民；繼續(xù)推進(jìn)人文交流，讓兩國(guó)友誼更加深入民心；繼續(xù)在多邊領(lǐng)域和國(guó)際事務(wù)中密切協(xié)調(diào)配合，共同推動(dòng)構(gòu)建新型國(guó)際關(guān)系，構(gòu)建人類命運(yùn)共同體。

Standing at this new starting point, China-Trinidad and Tobago relations are presented with unprecedented historic opportunities of further growth. We are committed to promoting political mutual trust, enhancing high-level exchanges. We will further maximize the synergy of development strategies within the Belt and Road framework, expand cooperation at all levels serving the benefits of our two peoples. We will continuously enhance people-to-people amity and cultural exchanges to make bilateral friendship get deeper into the hearts of the people. We will continuously maintain close communication and coordination on major global issues and endeavor to build a new model of international relations and a community of shared future for mankind.
