【分析】本句的mentioned表示被動的意思，后面省略了施事者by people。漢譯時改成主動的說法，要加上“人們”。

【原文 3】 …They will be able to calculate in advance thousands of possible combinations through the electronic brains in order to find the most suitable product.

【分析】本句the most suitable product是通過與上面的聯(lián)系帶上 了 from among thousands of possible combinations 的意思。因此可以譯成“從中找出最合適的產(chǎn)品”，通過上下照應(yīng)把“最合適”的范圍明確了起來。
