3. 逆序法

如果英語原句的表達順序同漢語習慣恰好相反，為了使譯文語句通順、自然，邏輯關系明確無誤，則應把句子各組成部分拆開后，用與原句相反的順序譯出。從這個意義上說，逆序法首先就是ー種分譯。如：

例6 The Japanese suffered a major embarrassment recently when they had to cut short their annual whale-hunting season in the Antarctic after a fire crippled their main ship and killed a crewman.

不久前，ー場大火嚴重損壞了日本一艘在南極洲作業(yè)的大型捕鯨船并造成一名船員喪生，日本不得不縮短了本年度的捕鯨季，這起事件讓日本十分尷尬。

例7 I feel there is no greater disrespect you can do to a person than to let them hang out in a job where they are not respected by their peers, not viewed as successful, and probably losing their self-esteem.

要是聽任某人在一個崗位上無做作為，從而讓同事們覺得他一事無成而不尊重他，這很可能使他自己失去自尊。我認為這才是對此人最大的不尊。
