(3)轉譯為副詞 

形容詞轉譯為副詞主要有以下三種情況。 

a) 當英語的名詞轉譯成漢語的動詞時，原來修飾名詞的英語形容詞就相應的轉譯為漢語的副詞。如：

* Gallium arsenide monolithic microwave integrated circuits and related high-speed digital circuits are now under intensive development.

目前，正在大力開發(fā)砷化鎵單片微波集成電路及相關的高速數(shù)字電路。

* Brushes should be given frequent inspection to see that they are in proper condition for service.

應經常檢查電刷，務必使它處于正常的工作狀態(tài)。

* The imitation of living systems, be it direct or indirect, is very useful for devising machines, hence the rapid development of bionics.

對生物的模仿，不管是直接的還是間接的，對于機械設計都很有用處，因此仿生學才得以迅速發(fā)展。

b) 當英語的名詞轉譯成漢語的形容詞時，原來修飾名詞的英語形容詞就相應的轉譯為漢語的副詞。如：

* The resistivity of semiconductors is inversely proportional to temperature.

半導體的電阻率與溫度成反比。 

* With slight modification each type can be used for all three systems.

100 每種型號只要稍加改動就能應用于這三種系統(tǒng)。

3. 形容詞前增譯名詞

* As a result, computers have become smaller, faster, and cheaper.

其結果是計算機體積變小，速度加快，價格更便宜。（形容詞smaller, faster, cheaper 前分別增譯名詞 "體積"、"速度"、"價格''）

* Bubble memories are not expensive, consume little power, are small in size, and are highly reliable.

磁泡存儲器價格不高，電能消耗小，體積小，可靠性高。（形容詞expensive前增譯名詞"價格。

* Aluminum is a light, malleable and ductile metal.

鋁是一種重量輕、可鍛造、延展性好的金屬。（形容詞light前增譯名詞 "重量”）
