1)城鄉(xiāng)小吃(Snacks Everywhere)。除了山珍海味(delicacies from land and water),嶺南各地小吃品種極多,如糯米雞、蝦餃、魚粥和豬腸粉等。廣州小吃品種就有云吞面(yuntun noodle)、及第粥(congee)、炒田螺(assorted snails)、炒河粉(fried Shahe rice noodles)、燙仔飯(pot rice)、生滾粥(congee)、純 白鴿(stewed pigeon)等,可謂數(shù)不勝數(shù),具有濃烈的地方風(fēng)味。
雜包spring wrappers,用熟面皮包各種雜食,現(xiàn)吃現(xiàn)包,自己動手的一種小吃。
糯米雞nuomiji cake(rice pudding)和各式各樣的粽子(zongzi) (比較:mantou, baozi Jiaozi 的翻譯),龜苓 guilinggao jelly,伏苓膏 fuiinggao jelly; Poria coccus jelly;涼粉 wild fruit jelly/grass jelly, 馬蹄糕 water chestnut jelly,喜之郎(果凍)Xizhilang jellies,這些是中國為數(shù)不多的幾樣果凍食品,中國應(yīng)該大力發(fā)展此類食品。老公餅 laogong cake,老婆餅 laopo cake,燒餅 scone, 米糕 sponge rice cake,蓮蓉糕 lotus bean paste,缽仔糕 pot cake,薩其馬 Manchu candied fritter是嶺南地區(qū)常見糕點(diǎn)。
糕餅類還有:香芋糕dasheen cake,馬蹄糕water chestnut jelly,蘿卜糕 radish cake,洋芋把 mashed-potato cake,南瓜餅 pumpkin cake
