口語化語言是廣大人民群眾經(jīng)常使用或創(chuàng)造的語言，這類語言包括口語、白話、俚語、歇后語等。在翻譯時要理解這些語言的確切涵義，看情況而定。要考慮到怎樣才能更完整，更準(zhǔn)確地傳達(dá)中文意思。請看下面的例子：
(1) 整黨不能走過場。 We should not just go through the motions in conducting the rectification movement.
(2) 我們不是哭窮。 We are not complaining about being hard up.
(3)（我國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人在對非洲某國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人談我們的援助時說）區(qū)區(qū)小數(shù)，不成敬意。Our assistance is limited, and it may not be up to your expectations.
(4) 用好這些人是很頂事的。 They will help a lot if they are put to proper use.
(5) 經(jīng)濟看好。 The econoniy is looking up.
(6) 你有政策，我有對策。 You have your policies；I have my way of getting round them.
(7) 計劃定得過高，冒了，教訓(xùn)是很深刻的。 Whenever plans were too ambitious, we overreached ourselves. This has been a bitter lesson for us.
(8) 這是個很大的難關(guān)，但這個關(guān)非過不可。 This will be the hardest nut to crack，but we have to crack it.
(9) 我們講話算數(shù)，不摘小動作。 We say all this in good faith. We do not play petty tricks.
(10) 走后門。 Get in by the backdoor.
(11) 風(fēng)涼話 irresponsible and sarcastic remarks
(12) 跑了和尚跑不了廟。 A fugitive must belong to some place that can provide clues.
(13) 拍馬屁 lick somebody's boots
(14) 擺架子put on airs
(15) 唱反調(diào) sing a different tune
(16) 隨大流 just go with the tide
(17) 露馬腳。 Let the cat out of the bag.
(18) 肉包子打狗,一去不回。 A dog given a bone who doesn't come back for more.
(19) 騎著毛驢看書—走著瞧吧(看究竟是啥原因）。 Let's wait and see what the reason for it turns out to be in the end.
(20) 廚子多了煮壞湯。 Too many cooks spoil the broth.
(21) 搟面杖吹火——一竅不通。Blow the fire with a rolling-pin-You can never do it.
(22) 寧為雞首,不為牛后。Better be the head of a dog than the tail of a lion.
(23) 嘴上沒毛,辦事不牢。Downy lips make thoughtless slips.
(24) 狗嘴里吐不出象牙。A cracked bell can never sound well.
(25) 打腫臉充胖子，吃虧的是自己。 You are sure to suffer if you pretend to be what you are not.
(26) 用槍打蝴蝶，小題大作。Take out a musket to kill a butterfly.
(27) 白天不做虧心事,半夜不怕鬼敲門。 A clear conscience is a sure card.
(28) 見鬼去吧！To hell with you!
(29) 你這個殺千刀的！You be hanged!
(30) 他媽的。Damn it.
(31) 十足的傻瓜 a confounded idiot
(32) 干打雷，不下雨。Great boast, small roast.
(33) 半斤與八兩，一模一樣。Six of one and half-a-dozen of the other.
(34) 蘿卜白菜，各有所愛。 Some prefer turnips and others pears.
(35) 掛羊頭，賣狗肉。He cries wine and sells vinegar.
(36) 兩袖清風(fēng) clean hand
(37) 水深不響，水響不深。Shallow streans make most din.
(38) 有錢能使鬼推磨。Money makes the mare go.
(39) 磨刀不誤砍柴工。Deliberating is not delaying.
(40) 新官上任三把火。 A new broom sweeps clean.
