Q: We have noted that the Joint Statement on the 2018 Inter-Korean Summit was issued at the 7th China-Japan-ROK leaders' meeting which was held in Japan yesterday. Do you have more information? What are the other outcomes of this meeting?
A: Indeed, this China-Japan-ROK leaders' meeting issued a statement on the Inter-Korean summit, and you may refer to that on the Internet. I would like to point out that against the backdrop of a series of positive changes taking place on the Korean Peninsula recently, it is conducive to the political settlement of the Peninsula issue that the leaders of the three countries exchanged views and uttered the common voice in this regard.
In the meantime, I would like to remind you all that the leaders of the three countries not only discussed the Peninsula issue at the meeting, but also exchanged in-depth views on stepping up the trilateral cooperation and other issues of common interest. The meeting also issued a content-rich Joint Declaration.
在《宣言》中，中日韓領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人共同發(fā)出了維護(hù)多邊貿(mào)易體系、反對(duì)保護(hù)主義、推動(dòng)貿(mào)易投資自由化便利化的有力信號(hào)。三國(guó)一致同意加快中日韓自貿(mào)協(xié)定和《區(qū)域全面經(jīng)濟(jì)伙伴關(guān)系協(xié)定》的談判。三國(guó)還同意建立“中日韓+X”合作機(jī)制，發(fā)揮三國(guó)各自互補(bǔ)優(yōu)勢(shì)，聯(lián)合拓展第四方市場(chǎng)，提高三國(guó)國(guó)際競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力，帶動(dòng)和促進(jìn)本地區(qū)國(guó)家實(shí)現(xiàn)更好更快發(fā)展。
三國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人時(shí)隔兩年半再次聚首，重拾中日韓合作勢(shì)頭，對(duì)于深化和拓展三國(guó)合作，促進(jìn)地區(qū)和平繁榮，推動(dòng)構(gòu)建開(kāi)放型世界經(jīng)濟(jì)具有重要意義。
In the Joint Declaration, the leaders of China, Japan and the ROK sent out a forceful message to uphold the multilateral trading system, oppose protectionism and promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. The three countries agreed to accelerate the negotiations on the China-Japan-ROK Free Trade Area agreement and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. They also agreed to set up a "China-Japan-ROK plus X" cooperation mechanism to leverage their complementary strengths, explore the fourth-party markets, improve their international competitiveness, and spearhead and promote better and faster development of countries in this region.
It has been two and a half years since the leaders of the three countries met last time. This meeting has rebuilt the momentum of China-Japan-ROK cooperation. It is of vital significance to deepening and expanding the trilateral cooperation, promoting regional peace and prosperity, and advancing the building of an open world economy.
